Our Manifesto
A public declaration of intentions for momentile.com by Cheddro Wilsons, Inc.
Reason for Being
The sole purpose of this service is to provide a means for people to chronicle their days and share their experiences, with as little effort as possible.
A momentile consists of a single image, defined only by the date it was published. That's it. Void of explanation and free from context, a momentile is pure visual communication. There's something special about observing an interesting moment from a complete stranger, without any message other than the one you interpret yourself. This is, at its very core, the reason we created momentile. To interact with others by observing the interesting, obscure, and mundane moments of everyday life.
Our Beliefs
- This site was conceived and developed as a labor of love, as a way to explore our own creativity while expanding and strengthening our skills. However, we are certainly open to new ideas. Which brings us to belief 2.
- This is not a dictatorship, we very much appreciate the opinions of our users and strive to give everyone the opportunity to make it a better experience for all. User-suggested features will all be considered for implementation, as long as we feel it doesn't detract from the site's core philosophy.
- Messaging, photo descriptions, befriending users and other 'social' webbery will never be implemented on momentile.com. Those features skew what we are attempting to achieve with this service.
- We favor an open style of photo sharing. Any photo you upload will be available to the viewing public. Anyone can stalk you, and you can stalk anyone. We think a free-flowing, non-restricted, off-the-cuff stream of photos is the best way for everyone to witness what you are personally experiencing. If traditional social photo sharing is more your cup of tea, checkout Flickr. They have an amazing service and we think their poo don't stink.
- Advertising sucks! Regardless how relevant the service, or cool the product is they're selling you: ads still suck! We have zero intentions of advertising on this site.
- Momentile is supposed to be fun! Don't stress on the number of views you get, or how many people are stalking you. Just. Have. Fun.
And now for some specifics...
- So what exactly is momentile?
- Momentile is a free online service that easily lets anyone chronicle their day with a single image. The basic idea is a user will do this for a year and then
look back on a collective mosaic of thumbnail images and be able to say, "That tidy little grid of 365 icons is one year of my life." They can share this with friends,
publish it to their personal site and maybe even print an annual of their moments in a pretty coffee table book? Who knows! In the end it will be fine users such as
yourself that tell us what momentile really is.

- Why is momentile so great?
- Short answer: Mobile integration and ease of use.
Momentile allows you to easily upload pictures from your phone so you can make updates from almost anywhere!
Plus you can also choose to receive SMS (text messages) alerts when a friend makes an update. You'll always be in the loop! With this
'instant notification' you'll know what you're friends and family are up to, and they'll know what you are up to.
Oh yeah, and we've got Twitter integration as well. If you are a twitter user you can choose to
have auto-tweets generated whenever you upload a new photo.
Bottom line: Momentile is great because it allows you to effortlessly share your life anytime, anywhere! *(and it's free)*

- Where are the image descriptions, comments and tags?
- There are no image descriptions, tags or comments. Currently, there are a ton of great places to socially
share your photos. Momentile is something different entirely. Momentile is a personal mosaic of daily images, that aim to tell a story using only imagery. A single
momentile consists of one image with a date. That's it!
